Sherry Lynn Gurwell's Obituary
Sherry Lynn Gurwell, 63, of Chanute, passed away, Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at the Via Christi - St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, KS.
Sherry was born in Chanute, Kansas on November 15, 1950, the daughter of Carl Riley and Edna Ione Winn.
Sherry graduated from Chanute High School in 1968. She was known to live her life to the fullest and was always quick to smile. Most recently she enjoyed playing bingo and loved spending time with her family and friends. Sherry was extremely proud of her son and grandchildren and carried them in her heart always. She will be missed.
Sherry is survived by her only son Freddy Gurwell of Edgewater, Maryland; a grandson, Torrin Gurwell and a granddaughter Destin Gurwell; a brother, Rick Winn of Neosho, MO; three sisters, Linda Sigler and husband Kenneth of Iola, KS, Donna Hare and husband Ronnie of Tulakes, KS, and Leila Hale of Cherryvale, KS; and a brother, Glen Winn and wife Julie of Chanute, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, June 18 at 1 p.m. Countryside Funeral Home Johnson Chapel.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 18 from 6-8 p.m. at the Central Park Pavilion in Chanute.
