I spent many days down at the Fowler house with Shirley, Pam, Rod, Merle, and James was the little guy. We met in 9th grade. Shirley penned my nickname “Bubbles’, and it stuck with me through school. I remember many days of sitting around drinking beer and smoking pot, then taking my guitar down to the Platte River. There was a little patch of sand out in the center of the river hidden by trees on one side. We spent many happy memories. Shirley was one of my best friends in school. I’m sorry to hear that Shirley didn’t grow out of those drinking days I never would’ve imagined. I can tell you that she was one of the kindest, sweetest, quietest, and lovely people I ever knew. We lost touch when she moved a fat Flagler. I drove out there one time and saw her and the kids. Rest in peace my friend! I know the mercy and grace of our Lord Jesus has swept you up into heaven. I know this is true, because your mom and dad instilled that in you as a little kid. My mom and dad did the same for me… It may be the only thing but it was the most important of anything in the world. God is good all the time. Amen.I’m praying for comfort for all you kids and grandkids, that you may have peace knowing that we never go too far… Sinners can come home …Jesus is calling, and I know Shirley didn’t forget His name!!
