Stanley Eugene Turner's Obituary
Stanley Eugene Turner, age 91, of Chanute, KS, passed away on August 27, 2016 at Diversicare in Chanute, KS. Stanley was born on May 23, 1925 in Boulder, CO the son of Stanley Bailey and Zona Serena (Ash) Turner.
Stanley grew up in Missouri and graduated from 8th grade in Pierce City, MO. He married Louetta Craft on August 14, 1944 in Bentonville, AR and they were married for 68 years before Louetta passed away in 2013. He liked to drive Buicks and wouldn’t drive anything else. Stanley worked in Construction and was also a minister for 56 years. He was an evangelist for a few years and loved to sing and play the guitar and harmonica, especially at the turner family reunions. Stanley and Louetta loved to open up there house for other ministers and he was dedicated to the ministry. Stanley was a member of the Healing Center Church of God in Chanute.
Stanley is survived by his children: Marjorie Ann Pence of Chanute, KS, Barbara Jean Shrum of Chanute, KS, Danny Lynn Turner of Cove, AR, Ramona Yvonne Greve of Chanute, KS, Eddy Glenn Turner of Neodesha, KS and Mark Steven Ray Turner of Chanute, KS; siblings: Herbert Turner of Chanute, KS, Ruby Grouette of Marionsville, MO and Chester Turner of Tennessee; 18 Grandchildren; 26 Great Grandchildren and Several Great-Great Grandchildren.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Louetta; three sisters, Vera Craft, Shirley Turner and Dorothy Turner and a brother, Earl Turner.
Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home, Johnson Chapel at 101 N. Highland in Chanute, KS. Interment will be at High Prairie Cemetery in rural Altoona, KS. The Chanute Honor will be in charge of military honors. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com.
