Stanton Eugene Williams' Obituary
Stanton Eugene Williams, age 76, died on June 24, 2017.
Stanton was born on February 4, 1941 in Grenola KS, to parents Faye and Kenneth. He graduated from Fredonia High School in 1959. He then entered the US Navy and served for 4 years. He married Janet (Gosch) in 1965 in Norwich KS. He worked at Boeing for several years before graduating from Wichita State University in 1975 with a degree in Industrial Arts. He taught school for 20 years in Conway Springs KS. While teaching he was active as a Student Council Advisor and part of the football chain gang crew.
Stanton was an active man who was deeply involved in the Shriners for many years of his life. He was involved with the Camel Herders, Chefs, and the Hospital Van Drivers. He received his Masons 50- year pin in 2015. He was actively involved in the Fall River United Methodist Church, the Fall River Barbeque and Church Bazaar, where he annually helped his wife, Janet, sell tickets for the annual quilt raffle. Stan was quick to volunteer his time and labor and served many a “walking Taco” during the kids’ Halloween parties in Fall River among numerous other community activities. When he wasn’t volunteering or busy with a mission, he enjoyed woodworking, cooking, hunting, and fishing and spoiling his many nieces and nephews. His family and friends will always remember him as a very generous person.
Stanton is survived by his wife, Janet, of Fall River, KS; his sister, Glenda Harborth, of Arab AL and his brother, James (Kay), of Wingo KY; He is preceded in death by his mom, Faye Morris,; his dad, Kenneth, both formerly of Fredonia KS.
Cremation has been effected. No services are planned at this time. Memorials havebeen suggested to the West Elk First and Second Grade for classroom reading books and may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
