Sylvia Davis' Obituary
Sylvia Vialine Davis, age 85, of Elk Falls, Kansas passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, Kansas. Born May 21, 1932, in Pushmataha County, Oklahoma, Vialine (as she liked to be called) was the only child born to Carbin “C.W.” William and Goldie Merry Ellen (Hunsucker) Goforth.
On November 6, 1948, Vialine married Theodore (Dude) Junior Davis in Paris, Texas and to this union were born 3 children, Norma, Ellen, and Michael.
Vialine spent her life as a home maker and she enjoyed reading, crocheting and especially watching old movies and westerns on TV. She also loved her trips to the casino and Walmart. She proudly wore the title as “grandma” and was known to several as just that. Vialine also served on the Elk Falls City Council.
Vialine is survived by her daughters, Norma and husband Don Beougher of Elk Falls, KS, Ellen Howard of Augusta, KS and son Michael and his wife Linda Davis of Eldon, Iowa. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren with 2 great-great grandchildren on the way.
Preceding Vialine in death was her husband Theodore and her parents, Carbin and Goldie Goforth.
Graveside Services will be held Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 10:30 am at Elk Falls Cemetery in Elk Falls, KS with Pastor Susan Galvan officiating.
