Teresa Marie Phillips' Obituary
Teresa Marie “Bob” Phillips, age 47, of Chanute, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly in a car accident on May 5, 2025.
Teresa was born on June 17, 1977, in Leavenworth, Kansas, she was adopted by Shirley Talkington and Dale Talkington in 1988 She was a 1996 graduate, and married the love of her life, Todd Phillips, on September 8, 1999. Together, they built a life full of love, family, and meaningful memories.
Teresa was a devoted wife, mother, nana, sister, daughter, and friend. She is survived by her husband Todd Phillips and their daughters and spouses: Jasmine and Stephen, Shayla and Trystan, Nicole and Jarad, and Chelsea and Tommy. She was a proud and loving Nana to Owen, Mia, Blayne, Abby, Waylon, Julian, and Colt—her beloved “boo-boo.” Teresa is also survived by her sister Leslie Summervill, her mother Shirley Locke, her brother in law Wayne Everett, mother-in-law, Sandra Phillips and many nieces, nephews, and cousins
For 19 years, Teresa worked faithfully at Walmart, where she ended her career as a respected facilitator. She was deeply appreciated for her dedication, kindness, and leadership. She was always ready to lend a helping hand, or teach someone something.
Teresa found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved spending time at Stockton Lake boating and camping with her loved ones. Her home on a little farm was her sanctuary, where she cared for her ducks, horses, chickens, and goats. A passionate gardener and caregiver, Teresa was known for her nurturing heart. She had a way of making everyone feel at home—she was “everyone’s mom,” and her friends were truly her family.
Above all, Teresa was considerate, compassionate, loving, and loyal. She took immense pride in her grandchildren and spoke of them to anyone who would listen.
A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home, 101 N. Highland, Chanute, KS 66720.
Teresa’s legacy of love, generosity, and unwavering care for others will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
