Thelma Irene Howell's Obituary
Thelma Irene Howell, age 96, of Sedan, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Pleasant Valley in Sedan, KS. Thelma was born on May 22, 1920 in Kimball, NE the daughter of Frank Stephen and Helen Laura (Francisco) McCreary.
On September 26, 1945, Thelma married Herman John Howell in Independence, KS. Herman preceded her in death on January 29, 2011.
During WWII, Thelma worked as a Rosie the Riveter at an airplane factory. She had a few other jobs but spent most of her life working in her home and raising a family. She enjoyed sewing in her younger years. She also liked reading and working on crossword puzzles.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herman; a brother, Marion McCreary; a sister, Marie Kirkpatrick; a grandson and a great grandson.
The family will hold a memorial service for Thelma at a later date to be determined. Interment will be held privately at the Longton Cemetery.
