Thelma Juanita Eubanks' Obituary
Thelma Juanita Eubanks, age 80, a resident of Moline, Kansas and formerly of Howard, Kansas passed away Thursday, June 25, 2009 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Juanita was born in Stella, Missouri on July 31, 1928 the daughter of Archie and Mary (Hopkins) Sanders.
On October 13, 1952, Juanita was united in marriage to Albert Franklin Eubanks at Bentonville, Arkansas. In February of 1964 Juanita and Albert moved to Howard where they owned and operated Eubank’s Garage until their retirement in 1994. Juanita enjoyed making quilts, knitting, crocheting, reading, putting puzzles together, and being outdoors in her garden.
Juanita is survived by two sons; Albert Eubanks of Casper, Wyoming, and Leroy Eubanks, two daughters; Thelma Welker of Channelview, Texas, and Mabel Lewis of Pittsburg, Kansas, one step son Johnny Eubanks of Joplin, Missouri, two step daughters; Bonnie Newcomer of Lawrence, Kansas and Cheryl Ann Thompson of Oronogo, Missouri, three brothers; Wesley Sanders of Silsbee, Texas, Lester Sanders of Stella, Missouri, and Jerry Sanders of Granby, Missouri, two sisters Avanell Tipton and Christene Dunbar both of Neosho, Missouri, eighteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband Albert on October 31, 1995, and three brothers; Howard, James, and Kenneth.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Grace Lawn Cemetery in Howard, Kansas with Pastor Robin Haines officiating. Visitation will be held Monday from 2 to 7 PM at the Zimmerman Funeral Home. Family suggests contributions to the Howard Library and may be left in care of the funeral home.
