Thomas William Morarity's Obituary
Thomas William Morarity, age 73, passed away comfortably in his home with family on Wednesday, June 28, 2017. Thomas was born September 6, 1943 in Chanute, the only child of Thomas Marion and Pauline Opal (Cawthorn) Morarity.
He served in the Army National Guard and the Army Reserve from 1961-1968. He was honored for his services on June 26, 2017 with a certificate of appreciation from Harry Hynes Memorial.
Thomas has been a lifelong resident of Chanute and graduated from Chanute High School in 1961. He also attended Neosho County Junior College briefly. Later, he owned a gun shop here for 10 years called “Shooter’s Den.”
He married Wayma Jean Dunlap on February 14, 1964 and later had their only child, Brian Keith Morarity. She preceded him in death in 1999.

Cremation has taken place.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home – Gibson Chapel. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Chanute, KS with inurnment following at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute, KS. Chanute Honor Guard will be in charge of military honors. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com.
