Tricia "Trish" Kay Ostrander's Obituary
Tricia Kay “Trish” Ostrander, age 62, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away on November 25, 2018. Trish was born to Donald and Barbara (Shultz) Shields on July 10, 1956 in Chanute, KS. She married the love of her life, Danny Ostrander, on November 6, 1974. He preceded her in death in 1993 and there is great peace among their family knowing the two of them are finally together again.
Trish was a loving mom, grandma, sister, and daughter. She was known for her big heart, and a willingness to help others, even taking in homeless strangers to make sure they had food and shelter, asking nothing in return, even if it meant she went without. Trish’s love of children, considering all as her own, she was affectionately known as “Grammy” to many. She had a very strong faith and was proud of being baptized a few years ago. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bingo, scratching lottery tickets, and making trips to the casino. Trish also loved to cook and was especially known for her chicken and noodles and enchiladas. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Trish was preceded in death by her husband, Danny; maternal grandparents, George and Clara Shultz; paternal grandparents, John and Hazel Shields; and brother-in-law, Keith “Bubba” Watts.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 5 – 7 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home – Humboldt Chapel. A funeral service will held on Friday, November 30, 2018 at the Humboldt chapel at 1:00 p.m. with interment at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Humboldt, KS. The family will invites everyone to a dinner following interment at Humboldt United Methodist Church and food may be dropped off before the service.
