Tyler "Bud" Linden Kneeland Jr.'s Obituary
Tyler “Bud” Linden Kneeland Jr. age 83, of Chanute, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014 at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center. Bud was born September 16, 1930 the son of Tyler and Golda (Green) Kneeland in Joplin, MO.
He graduated from Joplin High School in 1948 and then attended Joplin Junior College. Bud joined the United States Marine Corp in 1947 and served in Korea as a mortar gunner with the 1st Marine Division.
On June 16, 1955, 59 years ago, he married Mary Ann Myers at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Chanute, KS.
Bud received his x-ray training from Jefferson Davis Hospital in Houston, TX, and he served as the department manager for the x-ray department of NMRMC for 29 years.
He is survived by his wife; Mary Ann of the home, son; Logan Kneeland and wife Carrie of Miami, OK, daughters; Beth Wheat of Colorado Springs, CO, Monica Taylor of Wichita, KS, Nedra Reynolds-Bide and husband Martin of Hope Valley, R.I., Sara Kneeland of Topeka, KS, Amy Madison and husband Greg of Gas, KS, grandchildren, Amanda Taylor-Mitchell and husband Matt, Zachary Wheat and wife Audrey, Rachel Wheat, Garret Bowman, Austin Bowman, Nathan Kneeland, Abrina Kneeland, Tyler Kneeland, 5 step grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 8 step great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents; Tyler and Golda, sisters; Peggy O’Donnell and Nedra Thompson, and two nephews.
Rosary will be prayed Tuesday, June 17, 2014 7:00 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2014, 10:00 a.m. Family suggests memorials to St. Patrick’s Catholic School or to Fire Escape Coffehouse and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
