Veladeen and I were engaged to be married in the eighties. It didn't work out to my sorrow but I have always remembered the times we shared including a trip home in her VW. Here are some pictures from that time.

I met Veladeen when we both worked at the Palo Alto Medical Clinic. In those days we still wore nurses caps, white dresses, white hose, and white shoes. We became good friends, probably partly because we both grew up in the midwest.
We spent a lot of our time in her VW pop-top camper traveling to all the points of interest in the western US. We also volunteered weekends on the ambulance crew at Sears Point and Laguna Seca Raceways.
When she married, I was her Maid of Honor and when I married, she was my Matron of Honor. When I eventually had children, our responsibilities and interests diverged but we always kept in touch. She was one of my oldest friends and I will miss her.
