Veleta Elizabeth Daniel Haskins Sellars' Obituary
Veleta Elizabeth Daniel Haskins Sellars, of Chanute, passed away November 7, 2019 in the loving care of Diversicare and Harry Hynes Hospice. She was born on December 10, 1926 at Ft. Gibson, OK to Cleophus Daniel and Jewell White Daniel.
Veleta graduated from Porter, OK high school. She married Robert J. Haskins, Sr. and they have Robert J. Haskins, Jr., Ronald Jean Haskins, and Mitchell Daniel Haskins. Veleta married Robert Sellars on December 11, 1971 in North Carolina.
She was a lifelong Christian and a member of Westview Southern Baptist Church in Chanute.
Veleta is survived by sons, Mitchell Haskins of the home and Dr. Robert J. Haskins and wife Teresa of Chanute; grandchildren, Dr. Lori and husband Dr. Walker Caralcanti of Hudson, Ohio, Scott and wife McKayla Haskins of Spring Hill, KS and Erin and husband Lance Gifford of Derby, KS. She is also survived by her granddaughter-in-law Meagan Haskins of Ringwood, NJ and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by Robert J. Haskins, Sr., Robert Sellars; daughter-in-law Rebecca Jo Haskins and brothers, Cleophus and Grady Daniel.
A family celebration of life will be held and burial will be in Derby, KS. The family suggests memorials to be made to Harry Hynes Hospice and mailed to 2404 8th St., Coffeyville, KS 67337.Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com.
