Vera Lee Karr's Obituary
Vera Lee Karr, age 88, a resident of Montgomery Place in Independence, Kansas passed away Friday, February 22, 2013. She was born on the Lee Ranch near Winchester, Kansas on April 1, 1924 the daughter of Roscoe Vasco and Della May (Fidler) Daniels.
On September 23, 1941 Vera was united in marriage to Robert Lester Karr in Platte City, Missouri. Vera worked as a beauty operator, she also worked for 3 years for Perkins Hardware in Howard, 10 years at Batson’s Drug Store and 8 ½ years as a CMA for Elk Manor Nursing Home and later Howard Twilight Manor. She was an avid reader and she also enjoyed gardening, quilting, canning and collecting antiques.
Vera is survived by her brothers Warren Daniels and his wife Leota of McLouth, Kansas and Robert Daniels Sr. and his wife Karen of Elk City, Kansas and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob Karr and one brother Victor Daniels.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Countryside - Zimmerman Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Grace Lawn Cemetery. Family suggests contributions to the American Diabetes Association and may be left with the funeral home.
