Virginia M. Alexander's Obituary
Virginia M. Alexander age, 92, of Chanute went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at Diversicare of Chanute. Virginia was born September 4, 1921 in Danville, KS the daughter of Ralph and Gladys (Washburn) Metzen.
She married Glenn M. Alexander on August 8, 1936 in Sedan, KS.
Virginia is survived by daughter; Patricia White of Chanute, KS, son; Larry Alexander and wife Ann of Laughlin, NV, sister; Wanda Mae Canfield and husband Dick of Iola, KS, grandchildren; Crystal Niehoff and husband Chaplain Major Kevin of Ft. Sill, OK, Amber Townsend and husband Jerry of Chanute, KS, Shandel Stahl and husband Jared of Laughlin, NV, Sonja Flechtl and husband Clint of Derby, KS, and Glenda Ellis and husband Gary of Wagoner, OK, numerous great and great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son Marion, a sister, 2 brothers and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2014, 2:00 p.m. at Elcado Cemetery in Little Caney, KS. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 24, 2014 from 6-7 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home Gibson Chapel. Family suggests memorials to Castaways Animal Shelter and Sanctuary of Chanute, KS.
