Virginia Anne Dupuy's Obituary
Virginia Anne (True) Dupuy, age 79, passed away Monday, June 1, 2015 at KU Medical Center in Kansas City. Virginia was born on December 10, 1935 to Earl L. and Edith Lucille (Hurst) True in Chanute, KS.
On December 22, 1951, Virginia was joined in marriage to Dell D. Dupuy in Chanute, KS. The couple made their life together in Chanute, and celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary in 2011. Virginia took great pride in being a homemaker while raising their three children.
Throughout her lifetime she worked many jobs including Disney’s Market, Birdview Satellite, Everbrite Electronics, and as a Certified Nurse’s Aid. Virginia enjoyed reading, planting flowers and cooking special meals for family gatherings. Most importantly, she loved spending time and taking care of her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Betty Almond and one nephew, David Almond.
She is survived by her husband Dell, three children: Mike Dupuy and wife Teresa of Chanute, Patty (Small) Erickson and husband Tim of Chanute, and Barbara Dupuy of Shawnee, five grandchildren: Kelly Hays, Kim Hopkins, Kristopher Dupuy, Brooke Wire and Britt ‘Buddy’ Small, ten great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and three nephews, Steve, John and Joe Almond, and their families.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home Johnson Chapel 101 N. Highland in Chanute. A Graveside service will be held Friday, June 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute, KS. Memorials can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and may be mailed to or left with funeral home, Countryside Funeral Home 101 N. Highland, Chanute, KS 66720.
