Wallace Lee Love Jr.'s Obituary
June 3, 1954 – December 9, 2024
Wallace Lee Love II, known to family, friends, and the community as Wally, passed away on December 9, 2024, at the age of 70. Wally was a proud and dedicated member of both the Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA) and the Sons of the American Legion. He was a hardworking man whose legacy will live on in the many projects he helped bring to life and the loved ones he leaves behind. Wally was born on June 3, 1954, to Wallace Love Sr. and Doris (Johnson) Love, both of whom predeceased him. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Raymond and Harvey Love, with whom he shared a deep bond. Wally was a man of action, a skilled contractor, and the owner of Love Construction alongside his brother Raymond. Together, they built a lasting reputation for quality, integrity, and commitment to their work. Among his many contributions to the community, Wally’s work included significant projects such as the construction of the Super 8 Motel, the Tioga Hotel, renovations to the Chanute Public Library, the Safari Museum, and the Neosho County Courthouse. His craftsmanship was evident in every project, and his name became synonymous with excellence in the field of construction. His influence extended beyond buildings; he touched the lives of many who knew him, both personally and professionally. Wally was a family man, deeply devoted to those he loved. He is survived by his significant other, Tina (Anderson) Olson; his sister, Wanda (Love) Kelsey; his children, Wallace “Tiger” Love III, Joey Love, Scottie Love, Raymond Love, Regan Olson, and Ryan Olson; as well as 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren who were the pride of his life. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Wally was known for his loyalty, strength, and fierce protectiveness. His involvement with BACA reflected his deep commitment to helping children and families in need, and his membership in the Sons of the American Legion spoke to his sense of duty and honor to his country. Wally’s passing leaves a profound void in the lives of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of hard work, kindness, and dedication will live on in the structures he helped create and the memories he leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA) or a charity of your choice. Rest in peace, Wally. You will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
