Walter Cloyd "Corky" Tasche's Obituary
Walter “Corky” Tasche, age 81, of Chanute, Kansas, passed away Friday, February 17, 2017 at his home. Corky was born on November 15, 1935 in rural Humboldt, KS the son of William and Georgia (Morelan) Tasche.
On April 18, 1954, Corky married Joann Burwell in Humboldt, KS.
Corky was owner and operator of Corky’s Used Cars in Chanute for 45 years. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and hunting. He was a talker and went to Grain Bin every day for the last 2 years. Corky was a loving husband, dad, grandpa and great grandpa and loved spending time with his family.

Corky was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Lowell Tasche, Jenny Lee Tasche, Garrett Tasche and Mae Taylor.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 from 5-7 PM at Countryside Funeral Home Johnson Chapel on 101 N. Highland in Chanute, KS. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 1 PM at the First Christian Church in Chanute. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute. Memorials have been suggested to Horizon Hospice or American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Chanute and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
