Wanda R. Clark's Obituary
Wanda R. Clark, age 78, of Howard, KS, and formerly of Conway Springs, KS, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka, KS. Wanda was born June 26, 1937 in Howard, KS the daughter of Eugene and Hazel Laura (Van Buskirk) Lanning.
Wanda graduated from Howard High School and on June 26, 1955 she married Robert Clark at the Baptist Church in Howard. Robert and Wanda lived in Conway Springs, for 47 years. She enjoyed gardening, taking pictures, and watching birds and wildlife. Wanda was known for her cooking, especially her cookies and cinnamon rolls, she loved to feed everyone. She enjoyed playing softball and she and Robert were on a bowling team for years. Her greatest joy though was spending time with family, she loved to spoil the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Wanda is survived by her husband; Robert of the home, sons; Tony Michael Clark and wife Karen of Wichita, KS, Steven Clark of St. Clair, MI, brothers; Melvin Thomas Lanning of Howard, Larry Gilbert Lanning of Howard, Terry Wayne Lanning and wife Rita of Coffeyville, sisters; Mary Elaine Wade and husband Roy of Eureka, KS, Kathy Elizabeth Fouts and husband Sammy of Augusta, 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son; Roger Alan Clark, brother; Bill Lanning, and sister Phyllis Friend.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 5, 2016, 10:00 a.m. at Countryside Funeral Home in Howard, KS. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 5-7 pm., at the funeral home. Cremation will follow with burial at a later date. Family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer’s Foundation and may be left with funeral home.
