Wanda Lee Deer's Obituary
Wanda Lee Deer, age 93, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2014 in Wichita, Kansas. She was born on February 28, 1921 in Hoisington, Kansas the daughter of Frank Edward and Nellie (Coats) Sypolt.
On May 19, 1960, Wanda was united in marriage to Kelso Deer and he preceded her in death. She worked as an executive secretary for Phillips Petroleum for many years.
Wanda is survived by twin sister, Wilma Wagner of Hoisington, KS, niece Wanda Jo Madden (Michael) of Hoisington, KS, niece Nora Kirkpatrick of Roanoke, VA, nephew Keith Wagner of Canton, MI, niece, Karen Kirkpatrick (Bill) of Beatrice, Nebraska, nephew Tom VanBrimmer (Karen) of Hoisington, KS, niece Janet Murphy (Jim) of Mesa, AZ, stepsons: Montie Deer (Jan) of Topeka, KS, David Deer (Camille) of Loch Lloyd, MO.
Preceded in death by: parents: Frank and Nellie Sypolt, brothers: Elmer Sypolt, Mervin Sypolt, Melvin Sypolt and E.B. Gilbert Sypolt, sisters: Lola Moorhead, Opal VanBrimmer and Reita Rice, niece, Nell Marie Wagner, and nephews, Willis VanBrimmer and Jimmie Adkins.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sedgwick United Methodist Church in Sedgwick, Kansas. Memorials are suggested to the Kans for Kids and may be left with the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.countysidefh.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia.
