Wanda Delores McGee's Obituary
Wanda Delores “Molly” McGee, 89, of Chanute, KS, passed away on April 1, 2018. She was born on June 17, 1928 in rural Fredonia, KS. On May 12, 1947, she married Gilbert Junior “Fibber” McGee in Wichita, KS.
Wanda was a loving wife and mother. She was a homemaker most of her adult life while raising her children. She was an avid seamstress, quilt maker, and enjoyed crocheting. She became involved in genealogy and was able to trace her family’s heritage back to the Civil War. In her spare time, she liked to grow flowers, watch birds, and work on word searches. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, World War 1 Auxiliary, NARVE, and Meadowlark Good Sam’s RV Club. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gilbert “Fibber” McGee; son, Martin Dean McGee; grandsons, Vernon Gilbert McGee, Jr and Roy Dean Holden; and great-granddaughter, Taylor Mae Clemens.
A visitation will be held at Countryside Funeral Home – Gibson Chapel in Chanute, KS on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Farmington Cemetery in Fredonia, KS. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com. Memorials have been suggested to Cherry Street Youth Center and Chanute Veterans Memorial may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
