Wayne E. Huffman's Obituary
Wayne E. Huffman, 82, of Chanute, died Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Neosho Memorial Regional Hospital after a long illness. Wayne was born November 11, 1933 in Chanute, KS the son of Orville and Hilma Huffman. He graduated from Chanute High School and Neosho County Community College.
He married Nancy Watt on September 18, 1955 in Chanute. He started and operated Chanute Machine & Mfg. in 1969, later adding Chanute Storage, until his retirement in 1993.
He is survived by his wife Nancy of the home, brother David of Joplin, Mo, two sons Bobby and Hugh (Janet), daughter Karry Reeves (Mike), two grandsons, Derek and Dane, Granddaughters Haley Tubbs (Adrian), Megan Reeves and Hope Huffman, and great grandson Jaxen Tubbs.
He enjoyed his 10 o'clock coffee group for many years along with flying model airplanes, working on numerous art projects and too many other hobbies to list.
It was Wayne's wish to be cremated with no services. A celebration of his life will be planned for a later date. He loved his dogs so memorial contributions can be made to the no kill animal shelter, Castaways, P.O. Box 313, Chanute, KS 66720.
