Wayne Sizemore's Obituary
Wayne Sizemore, age 79 of Independence, passed away November 16, 2017 at his home after a long battle with cancer.
Wayne was born July 5, 1938 in Cordova, West Virginia to Maynard and Iva (Workman) Sizemore. He grew up in the Whiteford area of Harford County, Maryland. He graduated North Harford High School.
Wayne began his career at Bata Shoe Co., in Belcamp, MD, where he became a foreman. Eventually he made his career as a plumber. He earned his Masters Plumbers license in 1969 and started his own business. In the 1980’s he became a Pluming Inspector for the Harford County Government until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, farming, and raising cattle, and his beloved dogs. He was a fan of Bluegrass music and loved animals of all kinds. Wayne was a friend to all he met, a good man who lived a good life, and will be missed by many. He was gentle, but also like to joke around. If you weren’t paying attention, he’d pull a joke on you and you wouldn’t even know it.
In 1989 he married Freddia McGinnis in Fallston, Maryland. Shortly afterwards, they moved to Kansas and Wayne fell in love with the area, calling it home ever since. Wayne and Freddia, both having grown children from previous marriages, excepted each others’ children as part of their own family.
