Wendell Peter Schneider's Obituary
Wendell Peter Schneider, age 94, a resident of Golden Living Center, Fredonia, Kansas passed away Saturday, June 2, 2007. He was born in a German settlement near Mt. Vernon in Reno County Kansas on May 4, 1913 to John and Mary Bugner Schneider and as a child moved to the Fredonia area where he lived the rest of his life. On July 20, 1939 Wendell married Edith May Morgan in Fredonia, Kansas and she preceded him in death on December 7, 1999.
He was a life long farmer. It was his work and his enjoyment. He loved to hunt, play cards, and square dance with his friends and family.
Wendell is survived by one son Leonard Paul Schneider of New Albany, Kansas, one daughter Jean Ann Kariker of New Albany, Kansas, two brother; John Schneider of Seattle, Washington and Paul Schneider of Haysville, Kansas, two sisters; Eleanora Stevens of Apple Valley, California and Estella Bauman of Fredonia, Kansas, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Bernard Dale Schneider and one brother Emil Schneider.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fredonia, Kansas with Father Stephen Baxter officiating. Rosary will be at 10:00 AM at the church. Visitation will be held Monday from 6 to 8 PM at Countryside Funeral Home, Fredonia, Kansas. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Fredonia. Family suggests contributions to the Busy Beaver 4-H Club and may be left in care of the funeral home.
