William "Bill" Claude Wixon's Obituary
William “Bill” Claude Wixon, 50, of Chanute passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, October 2, 2023. Bill was born on November 17, 1972, in Southern California, the son of Guy and Theresa Wixon.
Bill grew up in Southern California, moving to Kansas in his early twenties. He worked in the hospitality industry his entire adult life and was passionate about his work. He moved to Chanute to take the position of General Manager of the Holiday Inn Express where he worked until his passing. Bill was very dedicated to his profession and his team and will be greatly missed by them.
Outside of work, Bill was an artist, an avid DC Comics collector, a huge fan of Marilyn Monroe, a very loyal Star Trek fan, and an even more loyal friend. He spent his free time staying up to date on all the little details of his hobbies and politics and was willing to have an educated and in-depth conversation with anyone on these topics.
Bill was an extremely independent person who was always willing to sacrifice for those around him, was always available for those who needed him, and would almost never ask for help himself.
Bill is survived by his mother Theresa and his friends who love him very much; Chris, Larry, Melissa, Ann, Zarek, and many more.
Cremation has been requested with no services planned at this time. If you would like to gather to celebrate Bill’s life, please contact Larry Burnham at [email protected].
