William Francis Matlock's Obituary
William (Bill) Francis Matlock, 77, formerly of Beloit, Kansas. Born in Thayer, Kansas to Paul and Wilma Matlock. He had 3 siblings. He passed away June 20, 2025 in Independence, Kansas.
Bill graduated high school in Thayer, Kansas in 1965. Bill Joined the United States Navy in 1965 to 1969. He served on the U.S.S. Kittyhawk. Bill worked for the City of Beloit for many years.
Bill was friends to many. An avid hunter and fisherman, Bill spent much of his time outdoors. He was also passionate about woodworking, creating beautiful pieces that were treasured by his family and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Wilma Matlock and two wives, Sandra Kay (King) and Ruby Joyce (Ketcherside).
Bill was survived by three siblings: Lester (Marilyn) Matlock of Washington; Sue (John) Clark of Texas and Pat (Joe) Davis of Kansas. He is survived by three children: William Paul Matlock of Beloit, Kansas; Angela (Terry) Matlock of Marshall, Mo; and Jason (April) Matlock of Junction City, Kansas.
Bill has 11 grandkids: Tallon Matlock, Chye (Jordan) Matlock, Hadley Duncan, Elijah Matlock; Aubreyanna (Nicholas) Evans, Autumn (Austin) Torres, and Addyson "William" Wenzl; Emma Matlock, Dalton Matlock, Jaxson Matlock, Sofie Matlock.
Bill has 5 great-grandkids: Harmony Matlock, Indiana Pratt, Gabriel Oliver, Atlas Torres, and Calliope Evans.
Bill will be deeply missed and we will carry on many fond memories he leaves behind.
Graveside service will be June 27th, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the South Center Cemetery in Thayer, Kansas. Arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home.
