William Roy Watkins' Obituary
William Roy “Bill” Watkins, age 66, a resident of Howard, Kansas and formerly of Moline passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita. He was born November 21, 1946 in Russell, Kansas the son of Lloyd Earl and Ida Mae (Mefford) Watkins. Bill was a graduate of Great Bend High School class of 1964.
After high school Bill moved to Wichita and in 1978 he moved to Moline. On May 20, 1978 Bill was united in marriage to Sharle Melea Carter in Howard, Kansas. He was a self employed auto mechanic. Bill was a member of the Moline United Methodist Church and the Elco Investment Club.
Bill is survived by his wife Sharle “Shae” Watkins of Howard, Kansas, one daughter Janelle Wells, his father Lloyd Watkins of Lenexa, Kansas, one brother L. Earl Watkins of Lenexa, Kansas and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother Ida Watkins.
Per Bill’s wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Moline United Methodist Church. Family suggests contributions be made to the Moline United Methodist Church and may be left with the funeral home. Online condolence may be left for the family at www.countrysidefh.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Countryside-Zimmerman Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas.
