William Kenneth Whitworth's Obituary
William (Bill) Whitworth, age 101, passed away January 16, 2015 surrounded by his family. He and his wife Nadine have resided at Brookdale Assisted Living in Overland Park, Ks since July 2010.
Bill grew up attending Erie schools and graduated in 1932. On Jan 7, 1936 he married Nadine M. Yockey. They had two children, Kay Whitworth Beech and Yancy Whitworth. Bill worked as a farmer in Stark, Ks and upon moving to Chanute in 1952 worked in the grain and seed elevator until retirement.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents Louis Whitworth and Margaret Nooner Whitworth, his sister Lorraine McCauley, and his daughter Kay Beech. He is survived by his wife Nadine, son Yancy Whitworth and his wife Sue of Overland park, Ks.,son-in-law Max Beech of Chanute, grandchildren Cheri Berg(Dale) Lawrence, Ks., and Shelly Beech (Liz) of Overland Park., Kent Whitworth, Kona,Hawaii, Chris Whitworth (Toni) of Overland Park, Ks, and seven great grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. A graveside service in Chanute will be held at a later date. Countryside Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.
