Wilma Ruth Condit's Obituary
Wilma R. Condit was born March 4, 1914 at Abilene, Kansas, the daughter of Joshua and Lillie Dawe Fink. She departed this life on November 14, 2007 at the age of 93 years at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute, Kansas.
She moved with her family to a farm northwest of Fall River, Kansas when she was six years old.
She attended Charleston Grade School and graduated from Fall River High School in 1933.
In 1935 Wilma was married to Kenneth Atkinson and he died in an accident in 1940. On September 12, 1945, she married Everett A. Condit. They lived on a farm northeast of Fall River for 43 years, until his death in 1988. Wilma then moved to Parkview Village in Fredonia, where she continued to live until her death.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fredonia, and was a charter member of the CDO Club of Fall River.
Wilma loved to dance, crochet, and was her happiest when she was around her many friends. She had a smile for everyone she met.
She is survived by a step-son Kenneth Condit-Kimble, many nieces and nephews, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, November 16, 2007 at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia with Pastor Charlotte Coates officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 1PM until service at Countryside Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Fredonia City Cemetery. Family suggests contributions to the First United Methodist Church and may be left in care of the funeral home.
