Wilma L Smith's Obituary
Wilma L. Smith age 89 of Fredonia, died Monday, January 16, 2017 at her home. Wilma was born January 23, 1927 in Yates Center, Kansas, the daughter of Clinton and Odessa (Martin) Wells.
Wilma was a graduate of Gridley High School. On July 28, 1946 in Yates Center, Kansas she married Owen Neal Smith. Wilma and Owen were married for 66 years until his death of July 29, 2012. Wilma worked all her life taking care of the family farm and her family.
Wilma was a member of the Fall River United Methodist Church, she was a 70 year plus member of the Order Of Eastern Star. Wilma was a member of the Jr Advance Club, Extension Units, Fall River Booster Club, she was a 4-H leader for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, baking, and loved to fish. Most of all she loved being with her family.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, husband Owen, daughter Judy Sondree and son Owen Steven Smith and 9 brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 20, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia with Pastor Charlotte Coates officiating with burial to follow at the Fredonia City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 5-7 PM at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia. Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com. Memorials have been suggested to either the Fall River Booster Club or the Fall River United Methodist Church and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
