Wilmetta Billie Johnson's Obituary
Wilmetta Billie Johnson, age 88, formerly of Fredonia, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Golden Living Center in Neodesha, KS. Wilmetta was born February 14, 1928 the daughter of Howard W. and Cora A. (Smith) Cunningham.
She graduated from Fredonia High School with the class of 1945. On February 24, 1946 she married Amos Johnson in Independence, KS. Wilmetta worked 17 years for Kansas Bank Note, 9 years for Dr. Davies as a dental assistant, and she also worked at the Fredonia City Library.
Wilmetta is survived by her daughters; Jeanette Thompson and husband McCager of Fredonia, Sue Barker and husband Don of LaFontaine, Becky Lyons and husband Terry of Fredonia, Amy Bunyard and husband Jayme of Fall River, brother; Wendell F. Cunningham, 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Amos, infant son; Freddy Dean Johnson, and siblings; Dean Cunningham, Howard Cunningham, Jr., Carmelitta Lucas and Jeanetta Shue.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2016, 11:00 a.m. at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia, KS. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home. Family suggests memorials to Autism Speaks to be used for research, and may be left with the funeral home.
