Winifred Jane Heisler's Obituary
Winifred Jane Heisler, age 91, passed away June 20, 2018 at Labette Health in Parsons, KS.
Winifred was born March 31, 1927 to Mike and Audrey (Anderson) Weyrauch at their home south of Howard, KS. Winifred didn’t finish school, as she met the love of her life and married Leland Heisler when she was 15 or 16 years old. From this marriage, there were 4 children born: Mamie, Jim, Sharon and Pat. Winifred and Leland worked at many things through the years which included Farming, Truck driving, and school bus driving for the Fiat School. They were married for many years until his passing in 2000.
Winifred was a hard worker, caregiver and loved people. One of her favorite things to do was deliver meals for the Friendship Meals in Howard, which she did for many years. She was also pretty fond of taking naps in the chair with Sissy, her dog grandchild, who will miss her very much.
Winifred is survived by:
Son: Jim Heisler of Vassar, KS
Daughters: Mamie Hughes of Independence, KS and Sharon Bowen of Independence.
Brother: Jess Weyrauch of Alva, OK
Grandchildren: Shannon Preston, Shayla Cramer, Stephanie Starling, Sasha Cook, Jeff Town, and Jodie Town

1 dog grandchild: Sissy
Winifred was proceeded in death by her husband; Sister, Jackie Winkleman; Brothers, John Weyrauch and Tom Weyrauch; Daughter, Pat Preston; Grandchildren Chelise Mitchell, Robert Town and Brent Bowen.
A memorial service will be held Monday, June 25, 2017 at 10:00 am at Countryside Funeral Home, Howard, KS, with family receiving friends from 9:00 – 10:00 am prior to service.
Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made in Winifred’s name to the Friendship Meals in Howard, and can be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
