Xana Jarie Mathew's Obituary
Xana Jarie (Marsh) Mathew, age 75 passed away Feb. 15, 2015 in Chanute, KS. Jarie was born July 21, 1939 in rural Thayer, KS; the daughter of Randal and Florence (Sumner) Marsh.
On April 25, 1982 Jarie married Leroy Mathew in Chanute, KS. Jarie retired from Ranz Motor Company where she worked for 21 years. She loved to bake cookies and cakes and also enjoyed helping with the concessions and snack bar at the Thayer Amateur hour. Jarie enjoyed taking care of her great granddaughter and being involved with her family. Jarie will be greatly missed.
Jarie was preceded in death by her parents, a brother: Randal Jr. and two sisters: LaDonna Burghart and Zerlina Marsh.
She is survived by her husband, Leroy, daughter: Sharie Frame and husband Russell of Chanute, granddaughter: Stephanie Westhoff and husband Wayco of Chanute and great granddaughter Arlee Westhoff. Sister-in-laws: Donna Mathew of Denton, TX, Teri Wolfe of Carbondale, KS, Joyce Marsh Cornell of Chanute, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Jarie are planned for Friday, February 20, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Countryside Funeral Home – Johnson Chapel 101 N. Highland in Chanute, KS. Visitation will be Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home Johnson Chapel in Chanute. Memorials are suggested to Cherry Street Youth Center and Castaways Animal Shelter and they may be sent in care of Countryside Funeral Home 101 N. Highland Chanute, KS 66720.
