I am saddened to hear of Barbara's passing. We were Fredonia classmates from Mound School to FHS Class of 1964. The last time I saw Barbara was 2004 at our 40th Class Reunion. Barbara was a beautiful person, multi-talented, had a wonderful sense of humor and was a friend to many. Wishing Wayne, other family members, companion and friends comfort and peace during this time. I was a student at Kansas State in Emporia in 1966. Barbara occasionally rode with me from Fredonia to Emporia. On one occasion a hawk dive bombed us and dropped a mouse on the windshield of my 54 ford. What a mess! Our instinctive reaction was to duck. However, the bigger problem was vision. I unfortunately turned on the windshield wipers and I can tell you that in those days no amount of windshield wiper effort would wipe the remnants of a dead mouse off of the windshield. Barbara was always a good conversationalist and I enjoyed her company greatly.
