Dear Richard and family,
I have been thinking about Beverley a lot the last few days. I remember Mom taking Wayne and me over to Chanute to play with Beverley and Eric when I was only 3 or 4 years old. Beverley was always so nice to me. Wayne and Eric where typical little boys who did not want a “little kid” around them or their toys. Beverley would play with me and protect me from them. Over the years I would see Beverley usually for the Short’s 4th of July and Christmas celebrations. Then in later years we started bringing Mom and Dad to Chanute for Thanksgiving and Beverley setup those plans. We all enjoyed it so much.
Beverly was always able to smile or say something that made everybody happy. I never will forget her warm smile and laughter. She was a truly delightful lady. Mary Jane and I have also been talking about Beverley and Mary Jane had many fond thoughts of her as well. She also stated that Beverley was the main glue that held the Short family together. She will be deeply missed.
Because of the winter weather advisory we were so sorry that we were not able to attend Beverley’s Memorial Service.
We deepest sympathies to you and your family. You have our thoughts and prayers.
