Beverley Nogle's Obituary
Beverley Jane (Erickson) Nogle passed away at the University Of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, KS on Dec. 18, 2014; she was 68 years old. Beverley was born in Flint, MI on Nov. 16, 1946; the daughter of Kelley Karl and Sunshine “Sunny” (Short) Erickson. Beverley’s father’s job took the family to several different areas but they eventually settled in Chanute, KS.
In May of 1970, Beverley was united in marriage to Richard Nogle in Chanute, KS. Richard’s occupation also required the couple to move around a bit and they lived in Springfield and Sexton, MO, also Manhattan, KS before settling in Chanute, KS. They were blessed with two children: Amanda “ManDee” and Clay.
After serving in many teaching positions in both special education and mainstream classrooms in various school districts Beverley eventually settled in Chanute and taught first grade at Murray Hill for a majority of her career and ended it retiring from Chanute Elementary School. She also had certifications in Learning Disability Education and Remedial Reading. Beverley was an active member of Chanute Retired Teachers Association, her local sorority called the Honorary Teacher’s Sorority, past member of Beta Sigma Phi, and the Southeast Kansas Women’s Educators.
Beverley Jane (Erickson) Nogle was preceded in death by her parents; she is survived by her husband Richard of 44 years of the home. She is also survived by her children: Amanda “ManDee” Nogle of Belton, MO and Clay Nogle and wife Wendy of Kansas City, KS; also by her two grandsons: Dirk and Gavin Nogle, as well as a brother: Eric Erickson and wife Roxanne of Andover, KS. In addition she is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Private interment in Memorial Park Cemetery will occur prior to Beverley’s memorial service which is scheduled for Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 10:30AM at the First United Methodist Church in Chanute, KS; no formal visitation is planned. The family suggests memorials in Beverley’s memory be made to the Neosho Memorial Hospital Foundation and may be sent in care of Countryside Funeral Home 101 N. Highland Chanute, KS 66720.
