David Eugene Christiansen's Obituary
David Eugene Christiansen, age 63, of Chanute, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at his home in Chanute, KS. David was born on September 7, 1953 in Chanute the son of Marvin and Wanda (Hartman) Christiansen.
After graduating from Chanute High School, David was hired as a maintenance man for Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad. He worked very hard there for 35 years.
In his spare time David enjoyed spending time with his friends. He had many! The thoughts of and visits from his grandchildren were his favorite. Waylon and Livia would always light up his face. David was a kind and generous person, as he rarely said no to anyone in need. Although he didn't have much, he was quick to offer what he did have to anyone in need. His dog, Bubba, was a constant companion who he loved dearly, and baseball (the Cubs and Red Sox) was his sport. Also a Jayhawk fan, he would never miss a game.
David will surely be missed my many and a Celebration of Life to remember him will be held at the Santa Fe Park train shelter house on Thursday, November the 17th at 1:00p.m. as trains were a big part of his life for so long.
