Dianne Ward's Obituary
Dianne Ward age 64, of Chanute, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014, at her home in Chanute. Dianne was born June 24, 1949, the son of Clifford and Phyllis (Rowell) Drown, in Kansas City, KS.
Dianne attended Wyandotte High School and then went on to graduate from Baker University in 1972. Dianne married Sam Ward on November 24, 1974, in Kansas City, KS. She then went on to work at Bethany Hospital in Kansas City and at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center as an Inhalation Therapist. She also worked at Wards Bootery in Chanute for many years.
Dianne was a member of the First Christian Church in Chanute, women’s group at the First Christian Church, and was a volunteer at the church and worked in the church office. She served as a girl scout leader for several years. Dianne was also a lover of animals and was known for giving strays a good home.
She is survived by her husband Sam, sister; Suzanne Graves of Kansas City, MO, nephew; Mark Graves of Edwardsville, KS, nieces: Stacy Mitchell of Shawnee, KS and Robyn Tatman of Coffeyville, KS, aunt; Marjorie Horstman of Phoenix, AR.
Dianne was preceded in death by her parents; Clifford and Phyllis.
Memorial Service will be held Thursday, June 19, 2014 11:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Chanute.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 18, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home
Gibson Chapel. Family suggests memorials to First Christian Church or Castaways Animal Shelter and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
