So sorry to hear Doris passed away. Thinking of all of your family.
Dear Judy, I was so sorry to hear about the passing of your Mother. I don't know if you remember me or not but I am Lillian Marks Daughter, Jean Billbe-Menendez. I shall always remember how much great care you gave my Mom before her death and I have never forgotten you or the kindness you showed her. I fondly remember times with your Mom, Dad and Tuffy and Jean Billbe who were my Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law who lived right across the alley from your folks. Your Mom always had food prepared, it seemed like, when ever we visited. She was a very loving and sweet person and a good friend. I just wanted to pass along my sympathy in your loss and you are in my thoughts and prayers as you walk a very difficult path after losing a Mother. It is very hard but may your memories guide you through each day until the sun shines again and leaves nothing but beautiful memories. Shirley Billbe (my niece) always keeps me up on important Chanute items and she let me know about your Mom. She is precious to me. I am living in Washington State again after being in Florida for 18 years. May God hold you in the hollow of his hand and bless you with his closeness. With many fond memories. Jean Billbe Menendez
Doris was one that always came to my concerts and always believed in what I was doing for the kingdom of God. No matter where I saw here she always had a smile for me and was such and encouragement. She will be greatly missed. Her friendship has certainly been a special gift to me.

Charles and I have many fond memories of the many meals Doris shared at our table. She was Charles' 8th grade teacher, and he remembers what a caring and kind teacher she was to him. She loved to come out and get fresh fruit, and she coordinated the apples for the apple dumplings for Otterbein fall bazaar and meal. She often drove over to take car loads of food for the Otterbein food pantry, and for Cherry Street youth. She was always willing to help with whatever she could. She will be missed by many.
