My wife and I only just learned of Laura’s death on the one year anniversary of her funeral. We are heartbroken. She was our favorite vet and saved our Maisie’s life at least two or three times. Our hearts are with her family as you continue to mourn her.

Laura was a close friend and one of the most positive influences in my life in veterinary school. We were in a study group together which became a family in what seemed like an instant. I would not have made it through school without her. She was a compatriot in all things nerdy. She helped fill the long nights of studying with laughter. She will be missed more than my poor words can express.
Dr Erbe was the most amazing and wonderful vet we have ever known. She loved our babies just as much as we do. Her compassion for our reptiles was so heartwarming. She was a one of a kind, absolutely irreplaceable, giving, and just plain awesome person. The world lost and bright soul, but all those sweet animals crossing the rainbow bridge will have the comfort of meeting her. Thank you Dr Erbe for sharing your love, talent, and just yourself with all of us and our animal!
I have too many memories and photos of Laura to share in one post. She was so dear to me and so many others, she never compromised on herself and who she was - a kind, funny, vivacious lass who brought joy to our lives. My love to you who read this and think of her, for I will in all of time and space, for every moment there ever was and ever will be. She was my friend and I loved her.
Dr Erbe was the most compassionate vet around. She was the only vet I could intrust my Irish Wolfhounds with. I met her when I first moved back here as she was a tech at Bartas. She left & went off to vet school and when she reappeared after she became a Dr. I was very surprised and happy. Dr. Barta was retiring and we decided to break her in right on the Irish Wolfhounds. I remember her first c-section on one vividly. Dr. Erbe was left handed so she operated from the opposite side as Barta did. I never called her Laura. I respected her and I could text her for advice anytime. She would let me video or take pictures on the OR floor just like Dr. Barta would allow. Because we always ran into something odd. Dr Erbe saved my Emmy from a water bloat and I documented it & made a video as I had never seen a water bloat & she pumped her belly empty & saved her life. My heart is broken and she will be missed forever by many. God must have needed another vet up there with Dr. Barta to take care of all the rainbow bridge animals. Rest in Paradise Dr. Erbe you were truly one in a million.
