Dr. Laura Grace Erbe DVM's Obituary
Dr. Laura Grace Erbe, DVM, 29 of Altoona, KS passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024. Laura was born on June 20, 1994, in Neodesha, KS, the daughter of Michael and Tracy Ann (Matthias) Erbe.
Laura was a graduate of Altoona-Midway High School class of 2012, she then attended Kansas State College of Ag, receiving her Bachelors in Veterinary Medicine in Agriculture in 2017, and graduated in 2019 from Kansas State University of Veterinary Medicine as a doctor. She then began practicing at Barta Animal Hospital in Independence, KS. In her down time, Laura liked to read, do leather work, and she loved her crocheting.
As shared by friends: Dr. Laura Erbe stepped on a rainbow way before her time. She epitomized hope. A kind, gentle, generous, humble, hardworking, encouraging, and beautiful person. Laura would mentor younger people whether it be in 4H, FFA, Kansas Muzzleloading Association, and gladly help anyone who asked for help. She always had a smile and a positive attitude; she was proof the future was bright. There are so many people across the state that she touched the hearts of. In the KMA circle, that round hat with her under it will be missed.

Parents: Michael and Tracy Erbe of Altoona, KS.
Two great aunts: Retha Carter of Altoona, Janis Otte of Atchison,
Three uncles: Danny (Janiece) Erbe of Altoona, George (Shela) Matthias Jr of Atchison and John Matthias of Horton,
one first cousin JJ Matthias of Atchison, and many other cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia. The family will be receiving friends 1 hour prior to service time. Memorials in her memory have been suggested to either the Kansas Shriners Hospital for Kids or A.W.O.L. of Independence, KS and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
