So sorry to hear of Rev. Gene's passing. My late wife, Kristen, and I were next door neighbors of Virginia and Gene when I was at the funeral home in Chanute. We really enjoyed our visits with both of them. We both often said, We wished we could have attended a church that he serve
I was pastor at Otterbein UMC in Chanute in the late 80s and I will always remember the gentle spirit of Gene as offered advice from the experience of a pastor, even though retired. He always displayed a calm and peaceful presence. May God's comfort be with you. Larry Buss
