Eulalia Emily Bird's Obituary
Eulalia Emily Dunbar Bird was born on July 29, 1919 in Longton Kansas and passed away on Nov 2, 2015 in Wichita. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Effie Dunbar, brother Arthur Dunbar, sister Eva Stephenson , and husband Ralph Bird. Eulalia is survived by children Carl (Anna) Bird of Clermont Florida, Rita(Bill) DeLong of Wichita, and Bill Bird of Winfield. Her grandchildren are Bryan Bird of Denver Colorado, Shannon (Danny) Bjortvedt of Montverde Florida, Wes (Jamie) DeLong of Olathe , Tabitha (Justin) Hogan of Winfield, Rebecca (Wes) Milburn of Derby, Thane Bird of San Diego California, Chad Bird of Manhattan, and Jason (Kim) Bird of Manhattan. She also has 8 great grandchildren.
She attended Longton schools and in 1935 she married Ralph Bird. They lived in Longton, Bisbee Arizona, and Elk Falls Kansas. She was a homemaker, mother, and piano teacher. She was active in the Elk Falls United Methodist Church where she played the piano for many years. Over her lifetime she taught over 90 piano students. She volunteered for many civic and church activities. Her hand quilting was in great demand by the church and family.
Services will be held on Monday Nov 9 at 10AM at Elk Falls United Methodist Church with a visitation at the fellowship hall of the Elk Falls United Methodist Church from 4-6PM on Sunday Nov 8.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established with the Elk Falls Methodist Church.
Countryside Funeral Home, Howard, Kansas is in charge of arrangements.
