Fred & my husband were on the USS Wilhoite together. They patroled the coast of VietNam. For the past few year we had the privilege of visiting with Fred & Mary at the reunions of the USS Wilhoite. Fred was always kind, with a great sense of humour. We are going to miss him. Our prayers are with Mary & family. Please know that Freds name will be mentioned every year at our Memorial Service and the bell range after his name.

Coffee times at Toots. If he didn’t exactly know where a visitor was from outside Kansas he would get down his travel atlas from shelf by restroom and look it up even while the customer was still there. He could carry on a conversation with total strangers and know their family DNA before leaving Toots. Also loved his driving the elk county express in the parades or bringing Mary to Toots. He will be missed as a dear friend.
