Gena Laurette Kimzey, age 60 of Longton, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017 at her home. Gena was born July 29, 1956 in Fredonia to Gene and Melba (Edwards) Johnson. Gena was a graduate of Elk Valley High School, as well as a grad Read Obituary
Gena and I were classmates in Fredonia together and have fond memories. She always had a great smile and I think she got her joyful spirit from her mom. Thinking of you at this difficult time.

I am so sorry to hear of Gena's death. Her Mom, Melba and my Mom, Jean - were 1st cousins. We always enjoyed Gena and her siblings and her Mom and crazy aunts at the Edwards reunion. I am sorry and sad for your loss.

I met Gena for the first time at a Kimzey Girls weekend. She was so country! Cowboy boots to her knees, blue jeans & smiles. She was always nice to me & had treated me like family from day one. I will miss her greatly.
My brother Kevin brought this beautiful sweet blond to Amarillo to meet me before they planned to marry and I have loved her as a sister ever since. Her loss is a painful sad loss for me. Faith

Was saddened to hear that my cousin Gena had passed so suddenly, We had just visited briefly at my Mothers Funeral late last year.
Thou it has been many years, I still do remember childhood memories of the Edwards clan gathering and all the cousins playing and the girls in the kitchen enjoying the moment and family, Mom Dixie, Aunt Melba, Aunt Margaret and Aunt Anita.
I remember when the trips to visit went from Fredonia to Longton. And as we got older being at her wedding,
Even over the years, time and distance, come Christmas there would be her Christmas card, will never forget how that touched us.
