Jason D. Timmons' Obituary
Benjamin Michael Oliver aka Jason Daniel Timmons was born 11/6/79 in Page Arizona, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023 in Independence, KS. He grew up in Tucson before the family moved to Florida. He is survived by his mother, Nancy Adams, his brother Justin (Maria) Oliver and his brother William Walters. He has three nephews, Caden, Dyllan and Brendin Oliver.
His love for racing started at 5 years old at the Tucson Raceway. We had friends that raced and went every weekend. Ben would put on his red ear covers and spend the entire night with his fingers gripping the chain link fence. From that time on if anyone asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up it was a race car driver. His favorite racer was Ivan Russel #17 and he cheered so loud for him.
He had a smile that could light up a room and a laugh that made everyone around him laugh.
Later he changed his name to Jason and affectionately called Bob Timmons, "Oldman"
He had a great skill and talent for finishing carpentry. He took a construction class that was taught by a seasoned carpenter who said he was the best finisher he had ever seen in his 40 years as a carpenter. In the aftermath of hurricane Katrina he went with a group from the Fredonia United Methodist church to Louisiana where his skills were very much appreciated. He had his struggles in life but was a believer in Jesus Christ and a child of God.
Cremation has been requested with a memorial service to be held at the 1st United Methodist church in Fredonia on Friday, June16th at 1:30 PM. There will be a visitation time after the service.. Memorials may be given in his memory for Celebrate Recovery at the 1st United Methodist Church, and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com. Services entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home 420 S. 20th St., P.O. Box 247, Fredonia, KS 66736
