We send our heartfelt thoughts as we share in your loss. John was the first visitor we had after starting attendance at Westview, welcoming and informing which we deeply appreciated. He and Steve knew each other but I had not gotten acquainted so he called me "Mrs. Steve." I must admit we also hit it off and I also found him a blessing as a friend and prayer partner on our prayer chain. It was always interesting, helpful, informative, and uplifting to visit with him about weather, church, or who belonged to who when I would get a prayer request to be put on the prayer chain. I could always count on John to help me figure out who was who because he knew everyone and we knew so few with our children attending Yates Center Schools. We had lived in the country between Yates Center and Chanute, Humboldt and Fredonia where mail routes, bus routes, and phone lines separated 3 communities, attending the little Methodist Maple Grove Church in that community. He knew our community well, too. He was more than a friend to all because he cared deeply and was always so kind about everyone as he would 'educate me', I assure you we share in your loss because we will miss him---a lot---as we know he will be in a better place that he has looked forward to for many a year.. May God bless you as John would want. He was a Christian that we are blessed to have known. Steve and Merridith Kimberlin
