Julian "Bo" Joseph Gutierrez's Obituary
Julian “Bo” Joseph Gutierrez, a dad, father, grandpa and friend, passed away early Easter morning, April 9, 2023, getting ready for church.
Julian, or “Bo” as everyone called or spoke of him as, was born in Ottawa, KS on August 19, 1952. He was adopted as an infant to Julian Gutierrez and Grace Gutierrez of Humboldt, KS, where Bo spent most of his life.
Bo is survived by his children, son Ashley Cole, and daughter Crystal Carpenter, both of Humboldt, KS as well; including his many wonderful grandchildren, Aden Allan Koch, Haylen Danaya Koch, Mayson, Morgan, Mattix, Maxton, Myles, and Myla Cole, whom we all know grandpa loved very much and were all so very important to him, for to be without family is to be living without importance.
Bo was preceded in death by his parents Julian and Grace Gutierrez, and wife Brenda Sue Maloney Gutierrez, also a Humboldt native. Brenda passed away August 28, 2022.
Bo was a devoted father and Christian. He loved the Lord, and always said “As long as I have God, I am never alone.”
Among his many talents, an amazing musician was one he was and loved. His career spanned 60 years, as a boy of 10 years old, he started playing. Bo held the position of base player in many Kansas bands over the course of time, just to name a few, Minor Distraction, Kanzaz Breeze, and most recently in 2023, The Past Blasters.
There just isn’t enough words to describe in words the hearts and lives Julian Joseph Gutierrez touched in his lifetime. But, our dad, friend, grandfather, and husband, St. Joseph The Heyoka lives on in all our hearts forever.
