Kaitlyn Lanette "Katie" Shultz's Obituary
Kaitlyn Lanette “Katie” Shultz, age 22, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017. Kaitlyn was born on July 18, 1994 in Chanute, Kansas, the daughter of Byron and Teresa (Sumner) Shultz.
Katie graduated from Erie High School in 2012. She was active in FFA and FCA and numerous sports activities while attending school. Katie then went on and earned an Associate’s Degree in Science. She worked as a CMA & CNA for Via Christi Village in Pittsburg, KS. She loved to take care of her residence and working with her co-workers.
Katie loved Royals baseball and was an avid fan. She was a loving and caring person to everyone she came in contact with. She also enjoyed helping her mom take care of the daycare children. Katie loved her family deeply and most of all loved and served her Lord and Savior. Katie will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her grandpas, Clarence Sumner and Dennis Shultz and step grandpa, Papa Dean “Sanford” Noland.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home-Johnson Chapel at 101 N. Highland in Chanute. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Temple Baptist Church in Erie, KS. Interment will follow at East Hill Cemetery in Erie.
