Louis Rex Ogle's Obituary
Louis Rex Ogle, age 85, passed away April 24th, 2017 at his home. He was born November 7, 1931 in Fredonia the son of Louis and Verna Mae (Shelton) Ogle. After graduating from Fredonia High School, he served in the Korean War and was stationed on the Navy ship U.S.S. Wisconsin. After leaving the Navy, he went to work for the Portland Cement Company in Fredonia and retired after 38 years.
Rex married Phyllis Ralston, and had 5 children, Marshall, Nanette, Rex, Connie, and Wade. The couple later divorced. Rex then married Connie Nave, and the couple later divorced. Rex spent the last 17 years with companion, Connie Langley.
Rex is survived by companion Connie Langley of Fredonia, children Marshall (Linda) Ogle of Fall River, Nanette Ogle of Fredonia, Rex Eugene (Kathy) Ogle of Berryton, Connie Ogle of Fredonia, Wade Ogle of Fredonia, Connie Langley’s family, Kim (Mike) Waugh, Tami (Don) Bishop, Terry (Warren) Claibourn, James (Dawn) Walston, brothers Alfred (Flora) of Wichita, Garry (Brenda) Ogle of Fredonia, sister Alice Ogle of Fredonia, 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert and Charles, 1 great-grandchild, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Cremation has been requested and is being handled by Countryside Funeral Home, 420 S. 20th Street – PO Box 247, Fredonia, KS 66736
Memorial contributions can be made to the Avenue of Flags and can be left with or mailed to the Funeral Home.
The family will be holding a graveside service at Weakley Cemetery on Saturday, May 6th, 2017 at 11:00 am.
